Expectation vs Reality: Fall for a Floridian
Last Friday was officially the start of fall and social media went NUTS. Happy fall y'all and everything pumpkin spice! Sure, the Snapchat filters were cute and leaf emojis everywhere were adorable, but it's sorta hard to feel in the spirit when you live in Florida.
Expectations: Happy autumn thoughts, cooler days, pretty landscapes, and orange everywhere
Reality: Made it past the worst Hurricane month and can see the light at the end of the windy tunnel
2. Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Expectations: Deliciousness in the form of liquid-caffeine warms you up from the inside out.
Reality; You're stuck having the watered down iced-version of any pumpkin flavored drink because hot liquids aren't consumed until January of each year.
3. Fires and s'mores
Expectations: Cuddling around the fire with loved ones, roasting marshmallows and making delicious s'mores
Reality: The only s'mores consumed is that kind in Thai Rolled Ice Cream
Expectations: Scarves, long sweaters and cute shortie boots
Reality: Shorts, tanks and flip-flops... again
5. Weather temperatures
Expectations: Temps cooling each night and you're being free from the pain of summer
Reality: Death-heat through December, which then only cools at nights
Expectations: luscious reds, oranges and yellows fill the trees and make the streets gorgeous
Reality: Leaves stay green until one day in December and then overnight turned brown. Just like magic.
